yep, Bob Dylan is the greatest American musician IMO
the Hendrix version is awesome too, great great song

agree, the Bob Dylan version is better but it is nice to hear the song in a different form also. I guess after hearing it over and over it is just nice to hear another take on the song. how many times has this song been covered by different artist?

All Along the Watchtower is great...IMO the Hendrix version trumps 'em all. I like Dylan's version OK and I like Vedder's version as well. There's a lot of good versions of that song.

Dylan is the best American songwriter since the middle of the 20th century, following in the footsteps of his hero Woody Guthrie. Like with Guthrie some of his songs are better by other artists however. Hendrix- Watchtower Vedder- Master Of War etc.
